Daniel E. Mitchell, 78, passed away at his long time home on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
Loving husband of sixty three years to Susan (nee Cantlin); Dedicated father of Lisa
Applegarth (William), Michael, David (Lori) and Lindsay Hathaway (Robert); Beloved
"Papa" to grandchildren Danielle, Hannah (Christian), Ryan, Kallie, Bryce, Blake,
Camryn, Kacey, Kellen and great-grandson Max.
Daniel was born in Cleveland to the late Harry and late Angela (Kodger). He was raised
in Brooklyn with his four brothers, the late James (the late Ethel), Thomas (Joyce),
Robert (Phyllis) and Dale (the late Joan). He began working for The May Company as
an electrician and over the course of his forty two years with the company, worked his
way up to the position of Executive VP of Central Maintenance. He contributed a
wealth of knowledge of electrical, plumbing, building and mechanical systems in
addition to his natural ability to effectively and compassionately manage his staff.
