Gilbert A. Sanow II, age 84, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025. He was born on Christmas day, 1940 to the late Gilbert A. and Eleanor (nee Clark) Sanow. He grew up in Lakewood, Ohio and graduated from Lakewood High School in 1958. He continued his education with a B.S. in education, a secondary teaching certificate in 1968, Master of Education degree and a school administration certificate in 1969, all from Bowling Green State University.
Gil is survived by his wife of 58 years, Phyllis R. (nee Phelps); sons Paul G. (Maryanne D. Zeleznik) Sanow, Eric L. (Jennifer) Sanow; and 3 grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sister Susan aka "Sunny" Baddour, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gil taught English and then History at Eastern Heights Junior High School in Elyria for his entire teaching career, which spanned over 30 years.
