Mildred (nee Kara) Herrmann Turcus, age 75, passed away after a brief illness at Mercy Regional Medical Center, with her loving family by her side, on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
She was born on May 19, 1949, daughter of Frank and Alma (nee Tuma) Kara. Millie was married to Don Herrmann from 1969 until his passing in December 1995. She then married Tim Turcus in 2000 until his passing on February 26, 2023. Millie was raised in Cleveland and attended grade school at Ss. Phillip and James and then graduated from Magnificat, in Rocky River, in 1967. Millie prepared taxes for 49 years, passing the Enrolled Agent test with the IRS. She played basketball and softball from the 6th grade through high school. She had also joined a women's softball team in 1980, playing with them until 1985. During high school, Millie was also a member of Magnificat's choir. In her adult life, she lived in Cleveland, Brunswick, Elyria, Rocky River and finally, Lorain.
